Fervent Exposure – Controls

March 19, 2011 at 1:50 am (Controls, writing)

I only have a brief expose of Controls who haunt Sam’s dreams along with Royce, in my novel, Fervor, because I have some news worth celebrating. The foursome, Paul, Anthony, Angela and Katrina, were the substitute family that Royce turned to when he felt excluded by his own house-family and rejected by those who had organized the events taking place on Fervor. They supported Royce at every turn:

―Stop! Stop!

Sarah’s familiar forceful push echoed urgently through his mind.

―Stop, Sam, please!

Sam knew that tone, and she had not bothered to knock. Something was wrong. He glanced up. Sarah and Fiona stood behind him and facing the opposite direction – in front of them stood Royce, and his four Control cohorts.

―He says they’ve seen us down here before, and that they know that something’s going on, Sarah relayed. ―He says they want to know what we’re up to, and that if we don’t tell them what they want to know, they’ll be forced to beat it out of us.

Sam raised his gaze to where Royce loomed before them. The black-haired boy smirked down at him with malevolence gleaming in his brown eyes.

The Controls hover in the background, but end up playing an important role in the climax of the tale.

And now for my news – Fervor is currently available as an e-book on Smashwords and Amazon:
